Surah Al-Ma’idah, Verses 116 and 117, and the Response to the Qadiani Distortion

اِذۡ قَالَ اللّٰہُ یٰعِیۡسَی ابۡنَ مَرۡیَمَ ءَاَنۡتَ قُلۡتَ لِلنَّاسِ اتَّخِذُوۡنِیۡ وَ اُمِّیَ اِلٰہَیۡنِ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ ؕ قَالَ سُبۡحٰنَکَ مَا یَکُوۡنُ لِیۡۤ اَنۡ اَقُوۡلَ مَا لَیۡسَ لِیۡ ٭ بِحَقٍّ ؕ؃ اِنۡ کُنۡتُ قُلۡتُہٗ فَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتَہٗ ؕ تَعۡلَمُ مَا فِیۡ نَفۡسِیۡ وَ لَاۤ اَعۡلَمُ مَا فِیۡ نَفۡسِکَ ؕ اِنَّکَ اَنۡتَ عَلَّامُ الۡغُیُوۡبِ ﴿۱۱۶﴾
مَا قُلۡتُ لَہُمۡ اِلَّا مَاۤ اَمَرۡتَنِیۡ بِہٖۤ اَنِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰہَ رَبِّیۡ وَ رَبَّکُمۡ ۚ وَ کُنۡتُ عَلَیۡہِمۡ شَہِیۡدًا مَّا دُمۡتُ فِیۡہِمۡ ۚ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ ؕ وَ اَنۡتَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ شَہِیۡدٌ ﴿۱۱۷﴾

When Allah will say (to Jesus): “O Jesus son of Mary, did you say to the people, ‘Take me and my mother as gods besides Allah?’ He will say, ‘Glory be to You! It is not for me to say that which I have no right to. If I had said it, You would have certainly known it. You know what is in my soul, and I do not know what is in Your soul. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen. I said not to them except what You commanded me: Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, a Witness.'”

The Qadianis claim that this verse proves that Jesus (peace be upon him) passed away.

Complete Qadiani Belief:

Your argument does not align with your claim. The first and fundamental point is that your argument does not match your claim. Your claim is that:

When Jesus (peace be upon him) was 33 years and 6 months old, the Jews arrested him (Tuhfa Golraviya, Khazain Vol. 17, page 311).

He was humiliated, insulted, slapped, and beaten (Azala Auham Part 1, Khazain Vol. 3, page 295).

He was crucified with two thieves, and nails were driven into his body (Azala Auham Part 1, Khazain Vol. 3, page 295).

He “escaped from the cross and fled to a cold country, namely Kashmir” (Tuhfa Ghaznaviya, Khazain Vol. 15, page 540).

In Kashmir, he died at the age of 125 (Khazain Vol. 15, page 55).

So, we ask the Qadianis to provide a complete argument supporting their claim. The argument should prove that the Jews arrested Jesus (peace be upon him), insulted him, crucified him with two thieves, nailed his body, and that he escaped from the cross and went to Kashmir where he died at the age of 125. This is your complete claim; prove it. However, no individual from the Qadiani community can establish this entire belief from the Quran and Hadith.
