The words “من السماء” in the Hadith clearly mean “from the sky.” These words indicate that Prophet Jesus (AS) will descend from the sky. The Hadith explains that his descent will happen from a specific place in the heavens, and it will occur according to the will and plan of Allah. The mention of “من السماء” explicitly affirms that the return of Prophet Jesus (AS) will be a miraculous event, fulfilling Allah’s decree.
قال ابن عباس: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: فعند ذلك ينزل أخي عيسى ابن مريم من السماء على جبل أفيق إماما هاديا وحكما عدلا، عليه برنس له، مربوع الخلق، أصلت، سبط الشعر، بيده حربة، يقتل الدجال، فإذا قتل الدجال تضع الحرب أوزارها فكان السلم، فيلقى الرجل الأسد فلا يهيجه، ويأخذ الحية فلا تضره؛ وتنبت الأرض كنباتها على عهد آدم ويؤمن به أهل الأرض ويكون الناس أهل ملة واحدة.
